One of the unknowns that the world still could not solve is the location of the Holy Grail . This is the Sacred Chalice used by Christ in the celebration of the Last Supper, an artifact that has been sought for more than 2,000 years and never found.Among the various hypotheses that place it in different parts of the globe, there is one that states that the Holy Grail is somewhere in Patagonia .
There are two versions that could verify that the Knights of the Order of the Temple, better known as the Templars, would have been tasked to cross the Atlantic Ocean — even before Christopher Columbus did — to protect it.
The noble Templars whom the pope appointed to take care of the paths that pilgrims made to visit the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Their faith led them to make vows of poverty, so they lived on alms, but over time they began to accumulate wealth and power.
It is said that they had a great treasure, which included the Holy Grail.
During the 19th century, a map made by Juan Antonio Víctor Martín de Moussy, a cartographer hired by the Government of Justo José de Urquiza , located in the Gulf of San Mat.iacute; as —located between the provinces of Chubut and Río Negro—an “old abandoned fort”. Currently, there is a plateau called El Fuerte, and it is believed that it was previously an island, since it is estimated that the sea waters covered a larger surface area.
“ El Fuerte” can be viewed from Las Grutas , has a height of 150 meters and an area of 2500 square meters. The funny thing is that, in fact, there is no glimpse of a construction, and on subsequent maps, in the same place where the cartographer marked the old abandoned fort, the same point appears pointing to the presence of a fort.
In view of this, the Delphos group began to believe in the hypothesis that the Holy Grail is in Patagonia and began to investigate this possibility in depth, to the point of organizing different expeditions to that plateau.
In their work, they could see that, in fact, there was a construction that would have Templar characteristics, while they found objects that would prove the presence of the Knights of the Order of the Temple in the area at least 800 years ago.
According to the members of the Delphos Foundation, which was dedicated to investigating this premise, the Grail would have reached Patagonian territory in 1307 , but they do not know where it is.
The story tells that Philip the Beautiful, king of France, decided to exterminate the Templars in the face of a debt he had accumulated with the Order, so he began a chase to burn them at the stake with the second objective of seizing his treasure. However, it could never be made of wealth.
Different versions indicate that 13 ships in the Templar fleet departed from a port in France, and were never seen again. In one of those 13 boats, there would have been the grail.
Another hypothesis tells that a gentleman at King Arthur's table found him and pulled him out of England to take him to a secluded and safe place. Legend has it that the knight came to an island after a lot of sailing, and gave the Grail to a group of knights who would protect it by moving it to another space. This is where cartographers' work is again important, given that maps prior to Martin de Moussy mention the existence of the abandoned fort, it is located in the same place as the “Isle of White Men”.
Popular belief indicates that, in order to find it, one would have to move to the Somuncurá plateau , “the talking stone”, in Mapuche, a territory covering an area of 25,000 square kilometers, shared by the provinces of Chubut and Río Negro.
There the same maps point to a place named Villa Fabulosa de Los Césares . Will this be the mythical city that gave rise to countless expeditions of explorers?
It is said that hidden behind a doorway stone located near the town of Telsen, in Chubut, could be the City of Los Césares and, inside it, the Holy Grail.
Will he be there?
