How to get around in Tucumán, the smallest province of Argentina

Despite being the smallest of our country, Tucumán is, above all, a historic city. We tell you how to get around in Tucumán.

fact that Tucumán is so small has its advantages. In its historic quarter, for example, the most important emblems of the city are concentrated within a radius of 5 blocks: The Historic House, the cathedral, the main museums, theaters and the Plaza Independencia as the main sign of the city center. We tell you how to get around in Tucumán.

Travel within the city will always be for short distances. The option to do so using public transport are the collectives, which operate with an electronic card system (similar to the Bs. As)

Users can choose between two types of cards, rechargeable or disposable, to move in Tucumán.

1) RECHARGEABLE: will be delivered upon request ID number and then you can be charged money indefinitely. It is made of durable material, similar to a credit or debit.

2) Disposable: It is similar to cards used to recharge credit on mobile phones. It is a recommended service for tourists or for neighbors who eventually travel by bus. It can be recharged up to two times only, when there is a remnant that cannot cover the value of a trip.

If you want to check the points of sale of the cards you can enter here.

The city also has taxi and remisservice. The central centre, especially in its pedestrian areas, is prepared for people with reduced mobility. The crossings of mouth are at the level of the sidewalk. There is also signage for the blind.
