Living nature and exploring one of the largest freshwater lagoons in South America is the most attractive tourist option that the city of Santa Fe has to offer. The islands and the great Paraná River make the wonderful landscape of the Middle Paraná an unparalleled option in what is called river tourism. We present you three proposals that you can know in the provincial capital.
As a first option, the most traditional, is the boat La Ribereña that offers a walk to observe and enjoy nature, in a typical setting of the Argentine Coast, with the driving and guide of the Boteros de Alto Verde, local experts who share with the visitor the secrets of the flora and fauna of the region .
The boarding point has a shelter where the boats are expected to arrive (located in the green space that runs parallel to the dam) and a floating pontoon, from where the boats depart and arrive. La Ribereña has seats and all the security measures required by the Argentine Naval Prefecture to navigate on the river.
The most modern catamaran on the Argentine coast starts from the dock 1 of Puerto de Santa Fe, two to three times a week. On board, the traveller can enjoy landscapes that provide the rivers, lagoons and streams of Santa Fe. With all the comforts (air conditioning, bar service and guide) the ship offers panoramic views on its various levels and services on board.
With capacity for 200 people, this catamaran measures 26 meters in length and 8.20 meters in length. The boat has a draft of 1.20 m and its range is 500 nautical miles. It has an echo sounder, GPS plus drinking water and sewage tanks, among other equipment.
This series of services and technical features allows you to live the experience of river tourism in a comfortable way , with the sole concern of catching landscapes through the camera or simply enjoying the breeze on your face.
Guardians of the river emerged as an extension project of the National University of the Litoral along with the School of Alto Verde that aimed to integrate young sailors' students.in the care and dissemination of their territories. From the dialogue of knowledge, a view of the natural and cultural heritage is being built socially that serves to expand employment options in the development of sustainable tourism activities.
In 2015, the opportunity generated by the extension team materialized in this tourist alternative for the city thanks to the commitment and support of the government that allowed the granting and permission of boats, also carrying out actions to promote and disseminate the initiative in national and international tourism agendas.
This is a proposal for river tourism that is considered important to maintain and grow over time , articulating with other future ventures related to the subject, such as the proposal for sustainable tourism in the La Boca Park. This type of initiative brings new and responsible trends to the current tourism practice, also contributing to the sustainable development of the city.
