Rural tourism and learning

Following the trend of rural tourism, in Santa Rosa de Calchines there is an ideal proposal for children. A farm where you learn everything.

Santa Fe
turismo rural

Santa Rosa de Calchines is a city located in the province of Santa Fe between the Parana River and the San Pedro Lagoon, almost a large island as its inhabitants say. The city was founded in 1816 as a Franciscan reduction, with the name of San Miguel de Calchines (name of the natives of the place). In 1856, the priest in charge of the reduction calculated the number of natives resident at 3000 and requested the establishment of a city. The mission moved to San Javier in 1857, and then again to its original site in 1860.

It is currently committed to identifying itself with tourism and education. Under this premise there is a beautiful complex called Granja Los Juanes, where you can enjoy all the benefits of Rural Tourism. Immersed in this growing trend of  approaching the countryside from tourism , the children of the region, as well as families, can visit this educational farm that brings them closer to rural life and the environment.

“Our goal is to teach children to love and  respect animals and nature . The best way to get to know them is through direct contact with them, knowing their habitat, reproduction, food and environment. If of all the activities they do, we get them to have fun and learn, our mission will be accomplished,” said its owner, Juan Carlos Campis in an interview with  El Litoral newspaper.

This option of rural tourism is one of the most chosen for school excursions. Students from the first cycles from all over Santa Fe, and from neighbouring Entre Rios arrive to Los Juanes to find out what a day is like at the Farm.

Taking care of the environment

The premise is the conservation of the  environment . The aim is to teach children to become aware of the need to protect wild animals. Thus, they observe the milking tasks by hand in the tambo and participate in a kneading workshop where they cook their own biscuits. They also  feed farm animals  and participate in children's games such as the moving bridge, hammocks, slides, survival.

The organic garden is another “stop” and there the little visitors learn to plant and assemble a homemade lumbricario.

 Not just for children

Los Juanes also has facilities for those who want to meet her as a family or as a couple. You can spend the day in one of its spacious pergolas or stay to sleep in the comfortable cabin. Walking through all the attractions, the day of rural tourism is flying by.

The entrepreneurship is part of a  wide range of proposals  aimed at tourism and education that has Santa Rosa de Calchines, in the department Garay. The private bet added to the public accompaniment makes the whole a  must stop  for all those who travel through this section of the RP 1.

“The beauty of the coast” is read on the posters welcoming the town and this is reflected in everyone's commitment to maintaining a  clean, orderly and educated location to receive the visitor.
