Los Antiguos is just over 400 kilometers from Puerto Deseado crossing the pure Patagonian steppe. The city rests on the southern coast of Lake Buenos Aires, and on one of the banks of the Los Antiguos River. The wonderful landscape shows the Cordillera de los Andes to the west and to the east the Plateau del Lago. This is the second largest in South America, it gives the visitor its thousand shades of turquoise. In it you can make water walks and the characteristic microclimate stimulates all kinds of water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing, kitesurfing.
A seductive offer is to walk through the areas of fifths where, in autumn, the temperature in the evenings is excellent for walking around its malls. In this disconnection route, red fruits are tasted, mainly cherries, the most important fine fruit in the region. Almost all establishments offer guided tours and some other options ideal to enjoy with the family. The Don Valentín farm, for example, offers exquisite homemade bread and fried cakes to taste smeared with apple jams, damask, plum or strawberries grown and harvested in the quinta itself. Handmade liqueurs, preserves and fresh vegetables are also sold. On the other hand, La Escondida, is a different environment as it is fenced by the majestic bards of the hill, between ditches and native flora. It sells fabrics in southern, aboriginal loom and triangular frame in sheep's wool, harmonizing ancestral techniques with modern designs. And finally the La Laguna farm that combines the lake breeze and the green of the poplars that adorn it. There are offered damask sweets, plums, cherries, strawberries, among others. In addition to exquisite cherries, cakes and liqueurs.
In Holy Week there is a Via Crucis that runs through the 14 stations of the Passion of Christ, made by the plastic artist and specialist in Sacred Art, Luís Quiroz. The works have tehuelche iconography. De Quiroz is also the Refuge of the Virgin. Annually the procession begins on the Los Antiguos river and reaches the river Jeinimeni, at that point joins a pilgrimage coming from Chile a clear symbol of fellowship.
