A destination full of experiences in the province of San Juan.
The Calingasta Valley is surrounded by the precordillera and mountain range of the Andes that impact with its wide views. Cerro Mercedario with its 6,770 meters high can be seen from here. One of the star circuits of our mountain range is the Balcón de los 6mil, a journey of approximately 10 days that takes you to the top and challenges your instincts.
In Barreal you will be able to know Cerro Alcázar, stage of the Concert of the Americas that takes place in April and shows that man and nature can live without problems.
The favorite sport this Valley is carrovelism, driven by the wind in the Leoncito Pampa del Leoncito the car to sail takes speed and is lost in the mountain. This 12-kilometer long, 5-kilometer wide plain is a white desert that brings together sportsmen and wind lovers. If you can wait for the night to fall, you will enjoy a shocking starry sky.
In Barreal you can also ride on the back of a mule and horseback between poplars and willows, move on mountainbike or rafting on the Los Patos River.
Another space that is located here is the Leoncito National Park, which preserves the local flora and fauna, you will be able to see guanacos, the suri cordillerano and, if you're lucky, some puma coming down from the Andes mountain range. It also houses two observatories (CASLEO and U.CESCO) that can be visited to spot celestial bodies and take advantage of the calingastine sky.
