A destination full of experiences in the province of San Juan.
The Calingasta Valley is surrounded by the Andes mountains and mountain range that impact with its wide views. Cerro Mercedario with its 6,770 meters high can be seen from here. One of the star circuits of our mountain range is the Balcony of the 6,000, a journey of about 10 days that takes you to the top and challenges your instincts.
In Barreal you will be able to visit Cerro Alcázar, the venue of the Concert of the Americas that takes place in April and shows that man and nature can live together without problems.
The favorite sport in this Valley is the carriage movement, driven by the wind in the Pampa del Leoncito the sailing car takes speed and is lost in the mountains. This 12-kilometre long and 5-kilometre wide plain is a white desert that brings together sportsmen and wind lovers. If you can wait for night to fall, you'll enjoy a stunning starry sky.
In Barreal you can also ride on mule and horseback between poplars and willows, go on a mountainbike or rafting in the Los Patos River.
Another space that is located here is El Leoncito National Park, which preserves the local flora and fauna, you will be able to see guanacos, the mountain suri and, if you are lucky, some puma that descends from the Andes mountain range. It also houses two observatories (CASLEO and U.CESCO) that can be visited to observe celestial bodies and take advantage of the Calingastinum sky.
