A wonderful trip to the clouds

The most amazing train in Argentina

Salta
We spend our lives setting goals, objectives, destinations. However, many times the journey we make to get there is just as important or more important than the end point. Something like this happens with one of the most amazing tourist attractions in our country: the Train to the Clouds, in the province of Salta. The promise is tempting: to make a trip to the clouds, to climb, to arrive high. And that promise is fulfilled: the final destination of the tour is La Polvorilla Viaduct, at 4,200 meters above sea level, from where you can contemplate the Puna Salteña in all its splendor. The corollary of the trip is reason enough to make it, but the Train to the Clouds also offers an infinite number of surprises in each stretch of the road. The 217-kilometre route crosses 29 bridges, 21 tunnels, 13 viaducts, 2 curls and 2 zigzags. At each station, passengers have the opportunity to visit small towns full of charm, where their inhabitants welcome them with warmth and where they can purchase handicrafts and regional products to take home a special souvenir of an unforgettable trip. The most amazing train in Argentina -and one of the highest in the world- opens the sky to its passengers and transmits, in the immensity of the landscape, an endless number of sensations: astonishment and stillness, contrasting colors and, of course, the experience of a unique national icon.
