The city has proposals for all tastes.
San Carlos de Bariloche designed three special activities for the long Carnival holiday, which will take place between March 2 and 5, reported the Mixed Tourist Promotion Agency of that town in Rionegrin (Emprotur).
The tourist attractions are intended for tourists who want to venture into the Adventure Tourism, get to know the typical gastronomy of that mountain range or dive.
These proposals are complemented by traditional hikes through the Chico Circuit, excursions through Nahuel Huapi Lake, walks through the historic centre, beaches and nature, among other attractions.
The first proposal relates to Adventure Tourism and consists of a trekking towards the Black Lagoon, a 14 km course that lasts between four and six hours and is carried out along a perfectly delimited path until reaching the Goye stream.
The director of Emprotur, Diego Piquín, pointed out that on this journey “you can reach beautiful views of colihues forests in which you can appreciate the rich flora and fauna of that Patagonian area”.
The Negra Lagoon is 1,650 meters high and for that reason it allows you to get stunning views of the natural environment and access a strategic point to visit the López, San Martín and Pampa Linda refuges.
The second activity designed for the long Carnival holiday is linked to getting to know the flavors of Bariloche's gastronomy, where lamb, pork based sausages and craft beer stand out, in a tour of Colonia Suiza.
Piquín said that “Colonia Suiza is a key place to get to know the best of the city's gastronomic offer, which is taking flight thanks to the appearance of young chefs who mix their knowledge with the traditional products of this area.”
Colonia Suiza was the first European settlement in the region and declared a historical heritage for preserving intact the original characteristics of the time of its foundation, at the end of the 19th century.
The director of Emprotur stressed that “in the area there are campsites and you can appreciate incredible natural landscapes such as Lake Moreno, the López and Goye hills and the plantations of fine fruit”.
“ The great gastronomic experience of the area is the ceremony of curanto, a traditional dish of the Araucan region that was introduced from Chile by Emilio Goye, one of the first settlers of the colony,” the official added.
Finally, Bariloche offers tourists who arrive in the next long holiday to dive in the crystal clear waters of its lakes to know the natural life that is in its waters.
The sites for this experience are several and cover different difficulties, ranging from baptisms to diving at 35 meters deep.
Tourists can dive in Playa Bonita, on Nahuel Huapi lake, on the Angostura stream and on three other beaches in the city, places where you can observe the typical species of Patagonian lakes such as lobster, crabs, trout, perch, puyen, fry and algae, among others.
