At 180 kilometers from the city of Viedma is the spa Las Grutas. Its name is due to the fact that it has cavern shaped formations up to 8 meters high, product of marine erosion of the cliffs.
This city, northwest of the Gulf of San Matías, has the warmest waters of the coast of Argentina. The reason is that the gulf joins the northern temperate waters along with the cold waters of the south and, remaining dry for some time, creates a microclimate that reaches about 25 degrees of temperature in the summers.
This makes it an ideal place for water sports such as skiing, windsurfing, jet-skiing and diving . In addition, its waters maintain a high concentration of salts and iodine, beneficial to the elderly and children.
From Las Grutas you can visit San Antonio Este, located 60 kilometers away. In addition to enjoying a day at the beach, this spa offers fishing , water excursions and rental of stand up boards or kayaks. There is also a trampoline and a water slide for the little ones.
