The platform has information on 62 trails and 450 kilometers of trekking trails in the Andean city. Impossible to get lost!
Trekking or hiking is a non-competitive sport activity increasingly practiced in all parts of the world. It seeks to bring people closer to the natural environment and to the knowledge of the area through the traditional cultural heritage. To do this, use the traditional system of communication routes, such as royal canyons, roads neighborhood and trails. Trekking is part of ecological tourism because, if develops conscientiously, does not generate any kind of footprint on the medium environment. For all these reasons, hiking is a symbiosis between sport, culture and the environment.
In some cases the trekking takes place on trails and routes already established and signposted. In others, on the other hand, walks are carried out freely. That is why it is important to take steps to minimize the risks of accidents and to avoid getting lost. In this sense, the city of Bariloche has developed a very interesting online trekking platform. It contains maps, data, recommendations and circuits to discover the 450 kilometers of trails that the city hides.
The new website https://www.barilochetrekking.com/ is a tool for mountain lovers who come to Bariloche every summer. Hikers motivated by the wide circuit of mountain shelters and trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Consultations on mountain trails and services grow between November and April.
On the platform there is information on 62 trails, 6 crossings, 17 short walks and 450 kilometers of roads to travel. Each with its own degrees of difficulty, starting points and arrival points. Even with the slopes you will find on the way!
The web is the result of collaborative work between various institutions. The Emprotur, Club Andino Bariloche, the Nahuel Huapi National Park, the Association of Tourism Hotels, the province and the municipality.
Bariloche had exponential growth in the last 30 years in terms of hiking. Over time, it has become the main South American destination in terms of itineraries, infrastructure and landscapes. The southern area of Nahuel Huapi National Park, in the vicinity of Bariloche, has a vast network. 10 shelters with a unique infrastructure for hiking and others related activities make it an obligatory destination .
To access the trekking circuits, for a few years Nahuel Huapi Park created the mandatory registration. In the same year, about 20,000 people are registered for walks on the mountain.
