The Pehuén Route is located in the central west of the Neuquén province, in Patagonia Argentina . This path visits the towns of Zapala, Aluminé, Villa Pehuenia-Moquehue, Las Lajas, Loncopué, Caviahue and Copahue. Its beautiful landscapes are offered by imposing mountains, volcanoes, mighty rivers, lakes and pehuen forests. This tree species that gives its name to the route is a millennial tree contemporary to dinosaurs and sacred for Mapuche culture.
Each destination on the Pehuén Route invites tourists to live its magic in a natural and unique mountain environment, to which the customs and traditions of its inhabitants are added. Sport fishing lovers find their place on the Ruta del Pehuén , a unique territory for the practice of this activity, where travelers enjoy fishing days in dreamy landscapes.
In all destinations the traveler will be able to watch birds, but as a viewpoint, the one that stands out most is the Laguna Blanca National Park , near Zapala.
Throughout the year, it is possible to go through paleontological and mineralogical museums to learn more about the formation of the territory and its inhabitants.

The Route is also distinguished by the large number of popular festivals and events that take place year by year, such as the Patagonian Chef Festival , which brings together outstanding patagonian chefs in Villa Pehuenia-Moquehue. The Copahue Extremo adventure race takes place on trails in Copahue Provincial Park and is the only one in the world to combine running and snowshoeing. Other highlights of the calendar in the area include the National Pehuen Festival in Aluminé , the Gastronomic Fair of Immigrants and Cultures in Zapala, the Snow Festival in Caviahue, the Loncopué Livestock Exhibition and the Pasto Festival in Las Lajas, among others.
