Holy Week activities in Misiones will have as epicentre the cities of Posadas, Santa Ana and San Ignacio, with a concert of Los Nocheros in the Jesuit Reductions of the latter, said today the Minister of Provincial Tourism, José María Arrua.

The main offers of those days will be focused on the Knowledge Park in Posadas; Cerro Monje, in San Javier; the Jesuit Reductions of St. Ignatius and Santa Ana, in the cities of the same name, and on Apostles.

Arrua explained that “the idea is to expand the tourist offer, always trying to expand and diversify”, so that visitors “have alternatives, beyond what they had predetermined or reserved.”

The presentation took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism in Posadas and the minister commented that the planned activities “range from religiosity, to artistic and gastronomic activities”, in order that tourists “stay longer and that their talk circulates within the missionary economy”.

The president of the Knowledge Park, Claudia Gauto, said that in holy days the Park will have two outstanding activities: a project with the Institute of Audiovisual Arts of Misiones, and Comí, a programme to promote the quality of missionary gastronomy.

“ For us it is important to have the Park open with free activities for Easter,” said Gauto, adding that there will also be functions of the Folkloric Ballet del Parque.

Also at the Knowledge Park, the first edition of CO-CINE, which will involve cinema and gastronomy between Fronteras, will be offered in Imax cinema, where the premiere of the children's missionary film “Cara Sucia” and other films from Paraguay and Brazil will be presented, accompanied by music and gastronomy.

About hotel reservations for Easter, Arrua said that “we are close to 70%,” but “since we are still 20 days from the date, we think we will reach 80 or 85%.”

The minister estimated that they will have “peaks surely in (Puerto) Iguazú, Posadas, San Ignacio and El Soberbio, which are the strongest products that the province has for Holy Week.” Holy Week activities in Misiones will have as epicenter the cities of Posadas, Santa Ana and San Ignacio, with a concert of Los Nocheros in the Jesuit reductions of the latter, reported the Minister of Provincial Tourism, José María Arrúa.
