About 15,000 tourists visited Mendoza's natural protected areas

The protected natural areas in Mendoza received, from its reopening last November until the first week of January, about 15,000 tourists with the form of online booking, reported today from the provincial renewable natural resources address.

“This year we have launched a new website of the System of Natural Protected Areas that contains very comprehensive information and documentation on each of them, including the necessary access protocols and visits in the context of the pandemic we are experiencing,” said the Secretary of the Environment. local territorial management, Humberto Mingorance to Telam.

Among the areas most chosen by tourists are the  Laguna del Diamante  nature reserve and the Provincial Reserves Aconcagua and Cordón del Plata, which are 220, 80 and 185 kilometers from the provincial capital respectively.

In the  Aconcagua Provincial Park , where the highest peak in America stands out, with an altitude of 6,962 meters above sea level, you can do hiking activities and enjoy the landscape, and visitors are reminded that it is forbidden to reach the summit and spend the night as stipulated in the minutes. for this activity in conjunction with Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the  Diamante Natural Reserve  offers a lagoon located 3330 meters above sea level where you can carry out activities such as fishing, hiking and overnight stay from three to seven days, with similar disinfection procedures for all the equipment to be used and you can also contemplate the impressive Maipo volcano.

For activities in this place, it is important to check the state of the road to the natural lake in the Sanctuary of Alvarado, where the tour begins.

For its part,  Cordón Plata Provincial Park  is located in the Cordillera de Mendoza between the towns of Potrerillos and Tupungato, at more than 3000 meters above sea level.

Here visitors can do trekking activities where they will have a panoramic postcard of the natural wealth of the place, which is one of the most important biological corridors in Mendoza.

Other points of interest that are also open and chosen by visitors are the natural parks of Wetdal Llancanelo, Portillo de Piuquenes and Manzano Histórico, among other spaces.
