A few kilometers from the capital of Jujuña, and after walking a very green ledge road, we are welcomed by the Dike La Cienaga, a northern paradise.
Just 25 kilometers from San Salvador de Jujuy we find the amazing La Ciénaga Dike . An immense mirror of water that offers us a unique climate, a different cultural experience and activities for all tastes.
Summer in northern Argentina is harsh, but La Cienaga, located in El Carmen , offers a paradisiacal microclimate. In summer, its temperatures range between 20 and 30 degrees, something that is comfortable, pleasant and endurable for everyone.
The road to get there leads us along a beautiful ledge full of vegetation. Unlike other similar destinations, La Cienaga presents itself as a social destination. Perfectly combines rest with nature. If we focus on water, the dam offers many water sports and fishing activities. The hotel offers windsurfing, skiing, rowing and boating. Boat or boat rides are also available. The protagonist of fishing is the pejerrey.
On mainland La Cienaga allows us to connect to nature in each of its campsites. Its gastronomic proposal is outstanding, fish animate many of the most important dishes. The “marplatense and barbedense” pejerrey is cultivated on the dam itself. We will also find raba, pascú and sábalos, as well as traditional northern foods such as empanadas and humita.
Being a social destination it has affordable prices, with its paradisiacal presentation shows that much remains to be exploited. The place is in a process of development. On its forest side safaris are the most attractive activities. Wildlife is eye-catching and bird watching and photography are very frequent.
If you are looking for a relaxed walk and connect with nature, your destination is the La Cienaga Dike in El Carmen. A green road will greet you with an unforgettable postcard upon arrival, typical of the north and Jujuy .
