Esquel designed two excursions to enjoy the majesty of autumn colors
Excursions to Piedra Parada and Puerto Chucao are two of the outgoing proposals of Esquel so that tourists can enjoy the majesty of autumn colors in the Andean region, said the Tourism Secretariat of that town in Chubutense.
The excursion to Piedra Parada starts early in the morning and has its first stop after an hour and a half of its journey in Gualjaina, a small town of Puelche origin whose name refers to a volcanic canyon.
The total route is 85 kilometers and includes sections along routes 40, 259 and 12 that culminate in an immense area protected by a guard.
The Secretary of Tourism of Esquel, Mariano Riquelme, said that “this place is the preferred place for birdwatchers and lovers of adventure tourism, especially climbing”.
The trip to Piedra Parada also allows you to observe gigantic geological formations that strongly mark the area of the Patagonian steppe, located in the heart of the valley of the Chubut River and modeled for thousands of years between volcanic explosions and the thawing of the ice of the mountain range.
Riquelme said that “the famous stop stone that gives its name to the route is located in the middle of the so-called Cañadón de la Buitrera, it is about 200 meters high and on its surface there are fossils of animals from the area”.
The Secretary of Tourism of Esquel stressed that “in the eight kilometers that the ravine has long there are eaves that are studied by the Conicet and stone walls that exceed 150 meters high and represent a challenging challenge for lovers of climbing”.
The excursion to Puerto Chucao leaves at ten o’clock from Esquel and after traveling 45 kilometers makes its first stop at Villa Futalaufquen, where you enter the
Los Alerces National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
The crossing, which takes a full day and covers 80 kilometers, allows you to access panoramic points from which you can appreciate the different shades of autumn colors in the Andean region.
Riquelme said that “in Villa Futalaufquen there is a walk through the most populated area of the park, on a 300m trail where you can admire rock paintings of three thousand years on a rocky eaves”.
The path continues to cover the lake, along Route 71, and after traveling about 30 kilometers it reaches the Arrayanes River, which moves the eyes with its turquoise waters.
The skeletal official stressed that “autumn is the ideal time to admire from within the changes in the color range of the place, with the mountain peaks that explode with snow and the greens that blend between lengas, coihues and mountain cypresses”.
“ The landscape is completed by a wide variety of birds, with carpenters and sauerkraut, huemules, pudúes, z
