On the banks of the Uruguay River and in the east center of the province of Entre Ríos, the boundaries of  San José are drawn. A town that stands out for  its versatility and ability to combine natural beauty with the history of the region . In constant play between past and present, their lands are able to offer indeclinable proposals. Moreover, tradition occupies a preponderant place thanks to its inhabitants who are dedicated to keeping immigrant roots alive. In this way, it is possible to know the customs of your colony, the local characters and stories. There are so many attractions to list that it is difficult for us to choose. However,  we prepared a small but varied list  that serves as a kick to continue discovering it.

The  Balneario San José  is the first river resort in Argentina to obtain IRAM 42100 certification. This is important because they relate to quality management and environmental safety. It is characterized by  having an extensive beach area  and an atmosphere of family tranquility. Although youth fun is also not excluded and is manifested in nautical entertainment. As a result, you can climb the crazy banana, go on boat and canoe rides, and participate in kayaking competitions.  It also includes a picnic and camping sector differentiated from each other, as well as all the necessary services for greater comfort .

The always present origins

The Regional Historical Museum was inaugurated on October 24, 1957 in commemoration of the Centenary of Colonia San José . The aim was to preserve the memory of the Swiss, French and Italian immigrants who made it possible to create the settlement. The house  holds in exhibition about 500 pieces  distributed in recreations of spaces and moments from other times. In turn, it retains a precious collection of  more than 10,000 objects in the Restoration Area.

Between its corners there is a  faithful representation of the times of colonization . Thus, it is possible to learn about practices, customs, clothing, furniture, professional and trade instruments, and even the rural tools of that time. At the same time, the exhibition is complemented by photographic sequences, documents and historical stories. Finally, between the inner courtyard and the subsequent halls the sailing journey that narrates the journey of an immigrant is symbolized. So the visitor is transported to the past and knows more about the origins of San José.

You can not miss the hot springs

Located to the east of the city and on the coast of the river is the  San José thermal resort . A no less fact about its structure is that it  has the largest area in indoor pools in Entre Ríos . The latter have incorporated direct access to toilets, showers and are a few meters from Balneario Camping.

In addition, its stepped shape by the natural slope offers the best panoramic views to visitors.  The complex has 800 square meters in its variety of indoor, outdoor and whirlpool pools.   Depths range from 0.40 centimeters to 1.40 meters, while temperatures range from 39 to 35 degrees. It also has a water park that everyone enjoys and a splendid lagoon that combine relaxation with fun.
