What is Junin's Guinness Record?

Junín, in the province, is an ideal place to enjoy at any time of the year. Its inhabitants will tell you how they came to be in the book of records.

The Buenos Aires city of  Junín  is an ideal place for      getaways    for its privileged location a few kilometers from two major urban centers such as Buenos Aires and Rosario.  The destination offers its lagoon, where you can practice all the nautical  activities  , its country  cuisine  and the joy of its Pampean countryside.

At 260 kilometers from the City of Buenos Aires and 190 kilometers from Rosario, Junín is caressed by the waters of the  Salado River . It also has a varied tourist offer, both for water sports and   fishing   and, in recent years,  artistic shows .

The  city  has a lot of green, three lagoons, the fishing of the   silverside   that resurfaced very well and offers pieces of 35 to 38 centimeters, also four museums, among other attractions.Just 11 kilometers from the  city center,   Laguna de Gómez Natural Park  concentrates the largest flow of visitors, with a wide infrastructure of services .
Restaurants, campsites, apart hotel, police detachment, medical assistance, suppliers, kiosks, shopping center and boat rental, are part of its offer for the enjoyment of visitors.

The lagoon is the epicenter of   the Pejerrey Provincial Festival  , which is attended by fishermen, professionals and amateurs, from all latitudes.

In the water mirror there are also many water sports, such as  windsurfing , water skiing, motonautics, yachting and jet skiing, among others. The venue hosts the Argentine  championships  of jet skiing and jet skiing and kite-surfing, and also has the first public school of this discipline.

Also, Junín is in the   Guinnes'   record book after placing 214  paramotors in the air (a motorized adaptation of the  paragliding ) displacing France from that place.

More attractive

Another of the lagoons, the  Carpincho , is the smallest of the three and is located four kilometers from the city, with access through the Eva Perón ring road. With an area of 400 hectares and a maximum depth of meters and a half, it is closely related to the Salado River and  dedicated to fishing . The place also has the option of staying overnight in a lodge. A  Fishing Club  with laboratory for students of the schools of the municipality.

Neighboring to the lagoon,  Borchex Municipal Park  is a public green space of 50 hectares 10 blocks from the center of Junín, where you can enjoy the lush grove and has a restaurant, changing rooms, a lake, a health court of 1600 meters long, football courts and games for children.

The third of the  lagoons , the  Chiquita Sea,  is also suitable for fishing and has a breakwater for the practice of this activity.

The city has 1300 hotel seats and more than 800 extra hotels, plus 2000 for camping. In addition to the   Museum of Contemporary Art  , the  Municipal Museum and the  Historical Archive , Eva Perón was raised in Junín. He did all the primary and the first theater weapons, studied theater in the city, so he has a pretty rich history. Then the  circuit of Eva  was set up and her passage through Junin. The six circuits of the tourist villages. The  Provincial Festival of Salame Homemade , in November. And the  Harvester's Festival , in October.

In terms of  gastronomic offer, October is the month that the  Feast of the Manjares  takes place by the large Arab community that lives in the town where more than 500 dancers and 50 producers of that origin delight tourists with their dishes and customs.
That, without stopping to enjoy the country restaurants in Baigorrita and Agustín  Roca, the gourmet cuisine  and the very good pasta and meat restaurants of the city.

How to get there

By car : from Buenos Aires it is 260 kilometers by Acceso Oeste/RN 7. Today the highway is completed and operational to San Andrés de Giles.
 By train : Ferrocarril San Martín: departs from Retiro on Friday afternoons and returns on Mondays at dawn. The ticket costs 300 pesos.
 By bus:  the passage is around 600 pesos.
