Buenos Aires

Villa Epecuén is the name of a town already in ruins, located in the party ofAdolfo Alsina , Province of Buenos Aires.

It is located approximately 7.3 km from the city of Carhué and its foundation dates from 1921 on the shores of the lake of the same name. It had about 1,500 inhabitants, being visited by an average of 25,000 tourists during the summer.

But in 1985 a flood caused by a flood of the lake plunged the city completely under water, forcing the entire population to be evacuated. Later in recent years the water began to retreat, leaving in sight the ruins of the city, which have become by themselves a unique tourist attraction.
