El cuidado del cuerpo

Mountaineering  offers the possibility to live unparalleled experiences. However, it also confronts us with the inclement  weather . In order to enjoy the heights in the cold weather it is necessary to take certain precautions and internalize yourself from the body's exposure to  low temperatures .

The parts of the body that freeze most easily are feet,  hands , nose, ears and face. Symptoms of frostbite are as follows:

  • Swelling and skin color change (from reddish to blue depending on severity).
  • Numbness and lack of sensitivity in the affected area.
  • Burning, tingling, joint pain and punctures.

To prevent this situation, use the indicated clothing. Also, dress with layers and use good quality insulating materials to avoid contact with moisture and cold. It is essential to take into account  hydration , since being dehydrated increases the chances of freezing.

In case of  freezing  of the hands, it is recommended to place them under the armpit or crotch, and not rub. In the case of feet, avoid walking. Drinking hot drinks such as tea and coffee is always a good option.
