Art, in times of coronavirus

A Neuquin plastic artist is transforming mandatory caps into art and thus helping her city, in times of coronavirus.

Stories of people

Andrea García is a plastic artist.  Perhaps that is why he could soon see the potential beauty in an object that is already everyday to us today. Because  Andrea   is transforming the obligatory  caps  :  he fills them with colors, drawings and art. But, even more importantly,  it makes them the main livelihood of the  Living to Help Foundation .

The Foundation to which Andrea belongs is carried out by Monica Guevara and Claudio Goinhex, and  assists with  donations  to the most vulnerable sectors of  Neuquen .  Above all, families with children who are not able to meet their basic needs.

For  Andrea    helping the other is a personal cause: food was not left over at home. She had to start working as soon as she finished high school  and, although she had always wanted to be  an artist , her situation led her to opt for a shorter career . He ended up loving that profession,  but art always called it . At age 38, he returned to his passion and began studying Art at an academy in Neuquén. It was a way out and, after a first  work , she began to be summoned to participate in different exhibitions.  Today he combines his artistic vocation with  solidarity .

 Living to Help

The Living to Help Foundation was having trouble raising funds, due to the measure of social and compulsory isolation. Before, to do that, I used to call meetings with bingos, and with the confinement this was not a possibility.

The idea of raising money for the foundation in exchange for artistic caps was presented by chance.  Andrea works in an optics and everyone had white caps to work, but that seemed boring to her. As he is a plastic artist, he decided to make his own different.  Today, the Foundation is selling these works at an amount of $300, which enables it to pay for their preparation and also to raise funds for those who need it .

In just three weeks, 500 barbijos have been sold , through delivery points coordinated by Facebook. This initiative has allowed the Foundation to continue the activities of the Foundation to buy food and clothing.

If you want to collaborate, contact Live to Help on  Facebook  :  Not only do you get a headlamp made with art and love, but give a hand to those who need it most  . You can also contact the Foundation at the phone number 2995870451 to make donations.
