The Olympic Primer

A Cordovan who primed, passes it, receives it and embocates it. A Cordovan who is an Olympic primer, whose world is orange and bounces.

Leonardo Gutiérrez

In Marcos Juárez , southeast of the province of Córdoba, the Olympic primer was born in 1978. That's what they called it  from the swollen  in one of their  emblematic matches. Leonardo Gutiérrez  was born on a day like today, May 16. His whole life was crossed, since then, by the  orange ball.  Since he was a child his world took the shape and color of a  basketball . He began his career in professional basketball at  only 15 years old . It was the  Olimpia of Venado Tuerto  that made him fit a top coat.

After five seasons of  priming it  in Venado Tuerto, he moved to  Athens .  The historic club through which all the stars of basketball pass.  And  from Cordovan basketball , especially. With the Greegohit a couple of revealing seasons. Where he got  confidence and flight.  He changed green and white for international t-shirts. The Olympic primer became an  international primer.

He went to Spain to  play with  Drac Inca de Mallorca , LEB Oro team. And after that, it started for Colombian payments. He played for  Paisas de Medellín.  But his love for his homeland made him return. That's where he started his tour of the clubs in Argentina.  The offer didn't stop  for this j ugadorazo.  He went through Sanitary Works, Ben Hur, Peñarol and Boca. Always with  impeccable paths .  Leaving everything  on the court and surprising with his plays at every step.

Celeste and white the heart of the primer

With the blue and white of the   Argentine basketball team   , she was played more than ever. He played  133 matches.  He consecrated himself as one of the players with the  greatest participation and titles achieved  defending the flag. Obviously, he was part of the  Golden Generation . He played alongside the team that has given us the most joyful in the history of basketball.  He played filling our heart with pride.

In 2017, with his  career crowned  with thousands of  championships won , he retired. However, his world continued to spin like a ball in a  finger spinner.  Alwaysunder your control, and around basketball. Leo Gutierrez began his  career as a coach  with Peñarol de Mar del Plata. Today he is the coach of the Olympic Cyclist de La Banda.  And break it!

Leo is one of the  most winning  players in the  Argentine National Basketball League . That's why we wish you a happy birthday. For all the points he made us celebrate. For all  the passion he could convey to us.  And the security that made us feel every time this Olympic primer had the ball in his hands.

 Thank you, Leo!
