Rivadavia Basketball and a new season in the Argentine League

Mendocino  basketball  has, for two seasons, a representative in the second category of the discipline nationwide, that is, in the Argentine League. That team is called  Rivadavia Basketball . Located in the department of the same name, Rivadavia is located 60 kilometers east of the City of  Mendoza . And from there the Orange prepares a new season, where he will seek to achieve what he once achieved in the  80's , when he lost the  final due to the promotion to Instituto de  Córdoba . It's just that Rivadavia Básquet has already made foot in the Argentine League and now goes for more.

He presides over the Mauricio Francese club. It is a club that understands management and the times that are sometimes needed to achieve results. That is why the lower ones are nourished by 250 boys and girls, who every year provide some trophy for the showcases of Rivadavia  Basquet . But the commission does not forget about the spirit of every club, and that's why it has almost  300 members . While, within the logic of long-term projects, we must highlight the  coach of the first team, Fernando Minelli , who has been in the club for 10 years. He won 10 titles, among which the C League stands out, which was the promotion to the third division of national basketball, the Federal Tournament.

The arrival of Rivadavia Basketball in the major leagues was given by invitation. But for you to be invited, you have to make merits. National authorities decided to expand from 24 to 28 the teams participating in the Argentine League, and there came the chance for Naranja, in the  2017/2018 season .

 Season 2019/2020 

In recent seasons Rivadavia reached the quarterfinals, and that is a more than acceptable result. At first he didn't know how he was going to do because it was logical that it was hard to adapt, but he grabbed the hand to the category and got into play off. For this year there is a completely new team, renovated, with many young people, as the economic situation somewhat prevents the hiring of foreigners.

And, like every year, state support will play a key role. It should be noted that they are federal tournaments where you need to keep the squad, transfers, meals, accommodation, etc. By the way, our source, Hugo Videla, press officer of the Club, tells us that “without the  contribution of the municipality and the provincial government , it is impossible to participate in these tournaments. All indoor clubs need it, except  San Lorenzo  or  Boca Juniors  .”
