In the framework of the 2019 Argentine Rowing Championship , whose sixth official date took place at the beginning of November in Tigre, province of Buenos Aires , Rosarino Juan Cruz Bayo achieved a great result by obtaining medals in the category of adapted rowing.

The young man with autism represents the Rosario Regatas club in this sport and is physically trained by Claudio Furnari in the Business Employees gym. He won the first place in the Special category 1x and also the first position in the special category in 500 meters remo-ergometer , under the technical direction of Gustavo Pacheco .

Juan Cruz Bayo stressed his joy for themedal won : “I felt good, happy. They made me do a job on the 500-meter rowing ergometer at race pace. I ran against Barilocheboys, incredible experience. The category was very difficult for me, and I won it by training with Claudio.”

This is the second championship that the representative of Regatas runs, after the one made in 2017 (in 2018 there was no adapted competition).

“ What I like about rowing is going out in the water and getting over every day more, and get better every day more,” said the athlete, and said that he practices sport four and a half years ago: “I saw my cousin rowing and drew attention. I liked it very much because I really like the river and the island . I train from Monday to Saturday, two hours and average, depends on how the riveris, to times a little longer. It's tiring, the training rowing is very demanding. Sometimes we go out to paddle, across the island, and if they don't take us out for a run, we do swimming pool, gymnasticsand mid-zone exercises.”

Despite the good results obtained and his youth, which portends many more to come, what Juan Cruz highlights as “the most important thing that sports leave you” are “friends”.
