The Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires presents, from Thursday 23 at the Pablo C. Ducrós Hicken Film Museum, the exhibition Paseo Optico, with works by the artist and set designer Andrés Guerberoff.
Paseo Optico is a route linked to the devices of the image prior to the invention of cinema , scientific advancement that later becomes a show and toy, as in its origins.
These visual technologies, now in disuse, originated mostly as scientific instruments for the study of theories relating to perception, allow to explore the illusion of spatiality and movement.
The exhibition comprises personal and contemporary versions of a praxinoscope, a zootrope, a Peep show, a teleidoscope and a mutoscope, among other optical devices designed by Guerberoff.
The exhibition Paseo Optico can be visited from Wednesday to Monday, from 11 am to 6 pm , at the headquarters of the Cinema Museum, Caffarena 51, until Friday 30 August , the value of the admission is 50 pesos (free wednesday).
