It's good

We Argentines chose “to be” before “being.” Why? We tell you on this note.

How we talk

Have you ever wondered why we say something “ is good ” instead of “ good ”? Sounds like a minor difference, but it's not really. Opting for the verb   estar   and not the verb to   be   gives our judgment a temporal quality that does not entirely compromise us with what we are saying.

Something may  be “good”  today and not tomorrow. When choosing to  be , we do not play it at all: saying that something  is good means saying that it will remain, and we are not always ready to make such a  commitment . Construction " is good " has to do with the passing of our convictions, with the ephemeral of our sayings.
So when someone tells them something  is  good, there if they know that something is really worth it.
