What were you doing at the age of 10?
Meet Lucia, an Argentinean who makes us look good all over the world.
As we are
Not everyone has defined their passion at the age of 10. We present Lucía Izaguirre, a girl from Paraje Larguía, a small neighborhood in the municipality of Totoras, 70 kilometers from the city of Santa Fe. Three years ago, and almost by chance, she knew her real passion - chess. With an innate talent and enviable discipline, he managed — thanks to working together with his teacher, Hugo Fosco, and the unconditional support of his mother and family — to represent Argentina at the Children's Chess World Cup that took place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, during the month of November. To get there, the road was step by step. First, he participated in regional tournaments in the Rosarina Chess Association. She was then champion in the national that was held in January in Vicente López. Then he won his place to participate in international competitions. Lucia's success is based on her great dedication: she trains four hours a day with her teacher and adult sparring, plays online games, does yoga, takes a healthy diet and listens to classical music. In the World Cup he competed with 114 other girls from 80 countries. This time he did not win, but he will certainly have rematch: at 10 years old, Lucia is one of those Argentines who make us look so well in the eyes of the world.
