It is enough to forbid us something so that we can do it with greater dedication. As with provocation. Quarantine is fine, people are the problem.
As soon as the indication was given to stay in our homes for 14 days, to work at a distance and to leave only for essential things, the people, at least in Mendoza, prepared to break the norm and challenge the authorities. The concept that COVID-19 is transmitted by the closeness of people is forgotten. It's more important to run to the gondolas and fill us with everything they sell us.
It is true that the streets, in general, look less burdened and there seems to be some awareness. But the subject changes when we have to be supportive. Switch when you go to the supermarket or pharmacy to purchase essential items. It doesn't matter the rules, the rules, thedistance that has to be between people and all those things that in Italy or Spain were not respected, and that's how it ended.
In order to stock up as if there was no tomorrow, the mendocins ran to the gondolas to be filled with gel alcohol, chills, milk, meat, hygiene items and all kinds of commodities. Huge queues on the sidewalks of the great hypermarkets show that we don't know how to do things right.
There is a possibility to buy online, there is a chance to purchase the products in the corner store. But, it seems, in times of catastrophes, we act like animals. We're competing. Pure instinct. But, common sense, nothing. Yes, real animals.
The sure thing is that, with as the days pass, people will notice that most of the elements of prime necessity will continue to be. Then we'll see that it wasn't necessary to squat at at the door of trade to be the first to buy as much as possible of milk, cotton or any primary good for our survival.
