Home People As we are The worst deception

The worst deception

We should not have the obligation, as citizens, to cry so that they give us what is ours

As we are

Of the many scams that unfortunately occur every day in our country, I think one of the worst is the Social Works that simulate expensive treatments for patients who never receive them. This robbery from affiliates, who pay their fee every month religiously for fear of running out of coverage, has two clear victims: first, the already exposed, the affiliates who see (although most often they ignore it, of course), how their money does not help better care, but goes to the coffers of algia thief who signs checks; and secondly, and perhaps the most affected, of the member who seriously has a major health problem and is denied his right to care. This case may touch me closely because my mom had breast cancer a few years ago and it wasn't easy to get social work to meet her obligations. They ended up doing so, but a long chain of litigation was needed, including a complaint with the Superintendency of Health. It is difficult to tell the despair it means to be legally fighting at a time in life when one more helpless feels, aware, moreover, that time runs and every day without chemotherapy can complicate the picture. Why does it take to cry to suckle? We Argentines have this phrase very incorporated and sometimes even some relate it to the effort and conviction necessary to carry out a project. I think we misinterpret it: in tango that phrase is a criticism, not a maxim. We should not have the obligation, as citizens, to cry to give us what is ours. It is the State that should be ensuring that private people do not take away what belongs to us. Unfortunately, it seemed that Argentines chose a less present State. The consequences, as always, are suffered by the most undergoing. Hopefully someday it will change. For everyone's sake. But above all, for those who no longer have the strength to cry.
