The worlds of Manu, a story book inspired by the drawings of a boy with autism.
To consider something “normal”, often, can override different expressions that do not fall within those parameters, but give rise to other realities, other worlds. That's what Los worlds de Manu is all about, a book of stories with illustrations by Manuel Nieto, a young artist of 19 years who suffers from autism spectrum disorder. Manu creates different animals that come out of his own imagination: a birdflant, a cocorana, an autuga. He has always drawn and, for years, his parents stimulated him to deploy his art and were treasuring his creations in ringed notebooks. In 2016, his father presented the drawings in a contest at the Recoleta Cultural Center and was selected for an exhibition.Thereafter, the worlds of Manu began to fascinate those who ran into them. Eight great illustrators — including Pablo Bernasconi, Liniers and Tute—created stories inspired by his drawings, which are now part of the book. Because what comes out of the norm can be wonderful. Because there is not a single way to understand the world.
