A photo fair in your living room

In this edition, BapPhoto becomes virtual. We tell you how you can access the content.

Art and Literature

It is real that face-to-face events have a magic that is not repeated in these times of virtual events. However, if we want to see the good side of the matter, virtuality gives us the possibility to access content that otherwise we would not have been able to reach, due to lack of time or means to move to the place. In this sense, today we have the possibility to enjoy a great  photography fair    that, for the first time, will be accessible to all who want to enjoy it:  BapPhoto  .

BapPhoto  is the most important art fair specialized in photography in Latin America  . A point of reference and meeting between  artists , curators, critics and specialized journalists. This year, it transforms its annual face-to-face format into a  special online edition open to the community for the first time. It is a virtual space dedicated to the promotion, dissemination and marketing of photographs.

The event has the support of the  Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires  through  Cultural Impulse  . BapPhoto Live is available  from 5 to 15 September  on the   Culture at Home website and on   various digital  platforms , such as  @impulsocultural  and @bacultura.

The programming

This virtual  space  , designed according to current circumstances, offers the public a selection of works through the participation  of more than eighty art galleries from different countries and trajectories.  Chaired by Diego Costa Peuser and Francisco Medail in artistic direction,  BapPhoto Live provides access to free curatorial content that aims to continue stimulating interest in artistic production and expand its reach to new audiences.

Here are some of the contents that can be accessed:

  •  Free films about photography : CineClub, a selection of films about photography
  • Pictures
  •  within pictures : An online exhibition that runs through ancient Buenos Aires through unpublished photographs.
  •  Where the ham was not ham:  The story of the Photo Studio Louisita, dedicated to portraying references of popular culture.

In previous editions, BapPhoto was supported by the  Metropolitan Fund for Culture, Arts and Sciences  (2018) and is currently supported by  Patronage  (2019). From this Cultural Impulse program, he was also accompanied in 2018 to one of his projects that will be available from Culture at Home: the mythical  Photo Studio Louisita  that, since the 1960s and for more than thirty years, portrayed thousands of celebrities of the show.aacute; ass and argentine culture, which were immortalized through his gaze.

An excellent opportunity to enjoy the art of good, wherever you are and without taking off your pajamas. Are you going to miss it?
