Go to sectionFernando Pitossi is director of the Laboratory of Regenerative and Protective Therapies of the Nervous System of the Fundación Instituto Leloir. He was recently incorporated into the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO). He is the third Argentine scientist to receive that distinction.
Pitossi is a biochemist graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD in Biological Sciences from Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany. He has been dedicated to scientific research for 31 years.
The EMBO is made up of 1800 scientists from Europe and around the world. Its list includes 88 Nobel laureates. He recently joined 56 new members; 48 of them are European. In addition to the Argentine, researchers from Australia, Japan and the United States joined. Pitossi is the third Argentine scientist to join this international network.
