An Argentine short film will participate in the Korean Fantastic Film Festival
The Argentine short film “La Lapel” was selected to participate in the International Fantastic Film Festival of Korea (BiFan). It will take place from June 27 to July 7 in Bucheon City.
“ La Lapel”, by Far Away Cine, is the only Latin American short film selected for the competition. He will compete with 26 other films from around the world in the Bucheon Choice category. It is the core of new trends and emerging talents in genre films around the world.
It is directed by Laura Sánchez Acosta (“Relicto”) and produced by Federico Ricaldoni (“Rooms for tourists”). “La Lapel” tells the story of Malena, who during a hot summer nap in a fifth Entrerriana terrorizes her younger brother, Santiago, with a legend that tells that children who do not sleep are watched by pigeons and captured by a horrendous monster.
Bored to do anything and despite Santiago’s request to stay inside, Malena goes out to the nearby mountain. He’s carrying his cell phone to get an internet signal. You do not imagine the consequences that can be unleashed by a simple walk in the sun.
Laura Sánchez Acosta
Entrerriana Sánchez Acosta is a horror film enthusiast. He has worked in the production, screenplay, editing and Vfx of several audiovisual projects. Highlights include “Relicto” (2016), her first feature film as director, and “Daemonium” (by Pablo Parés). His most recent film “La Lapel” (2019) won the Blood Window 2017 contest.
Currently, the director is developing her new feature film, “La Salamanca, la cave de los demonios”.
The actors of “La Lapel” – which had its world premiere at the Brussels Biff Festival – were Lola Ahumada (Resurrection), Joaquín “Quinchu” Rapalini (The Lighthouse of the Orcas), Bruno Giaccobe (Terrified) and Margarita Navarro actress from Concordia. The exhibition dates in Korea will be June 28 and 30, and July 7.
