Honored the Incaa at the Malaga-Film Festival in Spanish
The Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (Incaa) was honored at the City Hall of Malaga in conjunction with the holding of the Festival de Cine de Malaga-Cine en Español, in which Argentina is a guest of honor.
The event was led by Mayor Francisco de la Torre Prados and Festival director Juan Antonio Bigar, who gave an acknowledgement to the Incaa for its 60th anniversary “as promoter of Spanish cinema” to its president, Ralph Haiek, in the presence of Graciela Borges, Oscar Martínez, Héctor Olivera and other personalities from the industry in the two countries.
“ This anniversary is the best demonstration of the relationship that the Argentine people have with cinema, the same one that has been present at the Malaga Film Festival since its first edition, twenty-two years ago,” said De la Torre.
For his part, Bigar said that “we share with Argentine cinema, and especially with the Incaa and its current president, Ralph Haiek, a common tradition. In Ventana Sur, the market organized by the Incaa and Cannes Film Marché, is a benchmark. The fact that they are guests of honor is also a prize for us.”
Graciela Borges and Héctor Olivera were recognized for their career and talent. “There’s a phrase from Machado that says ‘I only remember the emotion of things’, and I leave full of emotions. I was happy at the Malaga Film Festival and I leave with my heart full of joy,” said the actress who will release “El cuento de las weasels” by Juan José Campanella in May.
Olivera thanked Spain for having always opened its doors: “Argentinian filmmakers have always had very strong ties with Spaniards, we create films, but also affections”.
“ This award is for Argentine cinema that is present in Malaga with its talent and with its films in Spain, which is our biggest partner for co-productions. That is why Argentina’s presence in the Mafiz market is also so important,” concluded Haiek, referring to the Malaga Festival Industry Zone.
In this same mark will be honored actress Cecilia Roth, who will receive the Retrospective Award presented by the 22nd Malaga Film Festival.
