What is the vintage of a wine?

Gastronomy
Que es la añada

The vintage of a wine refers to the year in which the grapes were harvested and are classified as excellent, good, regular...

The vint ages are crossed by the specific weather conditions of the year in the wine-growing zone where the wine is made. Thus, it is considered that a good vintage should have good insolation with moderate rains, rather throwing at few, and spread throughout the year.

The low humidity and the many sunny days that had multiplied in < a rel = “noreferrer noopener” aria-label = "In 2004 the grape harvest began in Mendoza, with a little more than a week in advance. Irrigation and rainfall contribute to a considerable increase in the size and weight of the grape: If the precipitation is light or moderate, the grapes ripening is good.

Under these conditions, the winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti, in 2004 led the production of his Linda Flor Malbec100% in the Bodega Monteviejo, member of the Clos de los 7.

Linda Flor is a vinification with 24 months in French oak barrels and resting in bottles for 6 months.
It has an intense bright red colour with purple hues and reflections. Its aromas are complex and we find ripe plum and licorice fruits, black pepper and subtle nutmeg notes. Round body, well structured and harmonious thanks to the long time spent in barrels.

So a very good vintage is combined with the hand of a good director, to achieve a great exponent of the Malbec Argentinian.
