Wine is a living being inside a bottle. That's why it has a beginning, a development and an end.
We arrive at the end of the year and there are multiplied toasts with friends, colleagues, family, Christmas and goodbyes. Occasions multiply and we need to choose the drink. How can we enjoy it better? How to distinguish such aromas from a red or white wine? Is it served cold or on time? How long are you allowed to age? With what food do I enjoy an unmissable pairing? How many years after harvesting is it advisable to consume it? Wine has its secrets. Here are some tips to keep in mind:
1. Cup or glass?
A wine does not have the same taste if it is tasted in a glass. In the cups it is more easily oxygenated and it is possible to determine greater virtues. After opening the bottle, oxygen is a friend: the odour molecules collide and open.
2. The colors in the eye
In sight, white wines must be clean, without sediment or any external agents. In reds, depending on the varietal, mutates the range of colors ranging from reds to violets in all their shades.
3. Appreciate flavors and aromas
Red wines have red fruit patterns, which vary according to the varietal. Pinot Noir delivers fresh fruits such as strawberries and cherries. Malbec is more complex, you will find the above tastes and plums. In the Cabernet Sauvignon is added green pepper, blackberries and blueberries. These are flavors of young wines. In the others appear some more complex, as they are enhanced by the combination of the wood of the barrel. We perceive cooked fruits, compote or jam type.
In whites, fragrances are more subtle. There are fruit trees and flowers. The aromas differ according to their strain and we can find apple, pineapple, citrus and some dairy products such as milk cream and butter.
4. There's a little left, shall I keep it?
Drinks can be left in the bottle for dinners or small toast. If it is recovered and stored, will it have the same taste for another meeting? We can generalize that, the next day, wine will have the same conditions, but then it will begin to decline.
5. How long is it aged?
Each wine is designed for a moment, an audience and a certain guard. The wine that rests in barrels will have a longer shelf life. On the other hand, young people, who do not go through that process, do not.
6. Drinking Temperature
White: between 10 and 12 degrees.
Red: from 16 to 18 degrees.
Sparkling: between 6 and 8 degrees.
Wine is a living being inside a bottle. That's why it has a beginning, a development and an end. It is essential to read the labels when buying the drink. And take into account the circumstances in which it will be shared. Let us think that wine has as its object the hedonistic exaltation above all the rest of the suggestions, and that is why it should be tasted as you like.
