Go to sectionThe Trapiche winery will be mentioned, with certainty, by any Mendoza who you ask for the name of three local wineries . Without knowing very well where it is located and without knowing its best labels, we all know that there is Trapiche and that he makes wines for all tastes and pockets. As you can expect, a brand so installed in collective consideration is awarded year after year. However, on this occasion it is important to highlight a particular award.
Wine Star Awards , the most influential competition in the wine industry, announced that Trapiche is “the best winery in the new world” for its 2019 edition. The award is awarded by Wine Enthusiast magazine , the most internationally recognized American wine publication.
Every year, since 2000, Wine Enthusiast publishers recognize and honor individuals, companies and regions that have made achievements and made exceptional contributions to the world of wine. Winners are chosen based on factors such as company and brand vision, impact on consumers and business, and wine trends.
With this mention, Trapiche makes history, as this award is a recognition of its quality and the work that has been carried out for more than 135 years, as well as the contribution that it has made in the field of tourism and wine culture over the last decades.
Since its beginnings in 1883 , Bodega Trapiche has been recognized for the incessant search for innovation. The understanding of the land as our most precious asset and the use of the latest technologies to venture into unexplored places make Trapiche a winery that defies what we know.
The winery was a pioneer in aspects such as the introduction of French vines, the import of French oak barrels and the introduction of wines from a micro-terroir.
Since its inception, Bodega Trapiche has ventured into the search for new challenges. Her explorer spirit led her to discover remote and unique places where she planted her vines not only in Mendoza, where she found areas of excellent potential for the production of her wines, but also in Chapadmalal , which led her to own the first wines of ocean influence.
Michael Schachner, editor of Wine Enthusiast magazine for South American and Spanish wines, and member of the jury that awarded the winery adds: “Trapiche deserves this award for a multitude of reasons: it is a historic winery in Argentina that has resisted the the passage of time, not only adapting decade after decade but also improving every day. Trapiche is positioned as a pioneer of the entire Argentine wine industry. It is worth noting his enthusiasm for finding new terroirs as well as creating quality wines at all price points. Added to this is a solid team of winemakers with great skills, a world-class hospitality and tourism area, and their vision for the present and the future. Trapiche meets all the requirements that a New World Winery can and must meet.”
