Go to sectionNew generations come into contact with the oenological world and the world of wine is staining in different colors than usual. Music marks an important place in people's lives and, as a bastion of youth, rock is an imprint on those born after the 60's.
Red Moon is born like this. A venture by the winemaker Nicolás Gabardós, who began with the first production of Syrah wines in 2009 in his private home in the department of Godoy Cruz (Mendoza province) in a homemade way but with all seriousness and professionalism.
It is the author's wine for being produced by the same winemaker personally engaged in the design and supervision of all the processes that range from the cultivation of the vine to the marketing of the wine.
Red Moon refers to a song on the album Dynamo by the argentinian rock band Soda Stereo in 1992, of which Nicolás Gabradós is a fan, and wanted to pay tribute in its creation.
The phrase “Wine of author” contains the commitment of few participating hands, the author being a conductor, where each performer actively participates in the process, from irrigation for the birth of the cluster, to care, harvesting, elaboration in the cellar and labels.
The first two production of Syrah wines from 2009 and 2010 were made in the garage of Nicolás's home, producing a total of 700 and 1,500 bottles respectively. From the next harvest, he decided to rent a cellar to increase the production of bottles to 6,600 thanks to increased demand.
Red Moon Syrah 2013 is a bright and violet-red wine in sight. On the nose we find the aroma of homemade jams of violets and forest fruits (blueberries, raspberry, strawberries, cherries) with a subtle touch of vanilla. It is a little spicy, and in the palate it is velvety, balanced, soft and sweet tannins.
The author's uniqueness produces an integrated, unique and inimitable work, in which his technical knowledge, experiences, style and personality are reflected. A wine author plays with colors, aromas and flavors just as the painter does with colors, lights and shadows. The winemaker can also bring us closer to the world of music when it comes to delighting us with his creations.
