The predilection of varietals

Within the universe of varietals, I found one of my favorites. And so when it comes to choosing for the only pleasure of doing so, Syrah grape takes my predilection. Its acidity and astringency are, in my opinion, very valuable for the palate.

Today I try a 2013 Eduardo Félix Syrah from the Mendoza Llaver winery.

Served in the glass, it presents very good colors with plum red tones with marked and strong violet reflections, which get to dye the glass. It's time to tilt my glass and try. The palate delivers very good acidity and the flavors of the aromas described above correspond with great sharpness, to which truffles, leather, licorice and graphite are added. It is complex and of great fleshiness, with notes of cloves, cocoa and a soft oak.It is a very balanced and round wine. Slightly velvety and quite unctuous. An exponent of great fidelity to its varietal.

The winery that Dr. Eduardo Félix Llaver began in 1964 is located in the east of the Province of Mendoza and 30 years later undertook the challenge of producing high quality wines. It was the hard work of this stage and strong foundations forged in its beginnings, which gave rise to this great Syrah that delights us today.
