Banana pudding with an Argentine twist

Did you pass the bananas? Don't throw them away! Try this banana pudding recipe with dulce de leche heart. You're not going to regret it.

When we think about a  mate , we don't think just about  mate . With it come a myriad of foods that fill our hearts and, in general, have one ingredient in common: flours. Among all those preparations with flour, there is one that is quite common in our matteadas -  banana pudding . Actually, it can be different fruits, but  banana  has an extra particularity: it gives it a natural sweetness that does not require much more to be added to it than that.

Banana pudding  is also an excellent alternative when we missed the fruit and we think it is to throw away. Stop there! Nothing more delicious for this recipe than a  well-ripe bananas . So, if you think they're already past, it's time to put yourself on a pudding. Today we bring you a version that bets on  healthier ingredients   . Because, for something to be rich, you don't have to have kilos of butter. This recipe is very easy to make and the result is a resounding success.

Of course, since we are in Argentina, we're going to make it a little less healthy and we're going to add a national touch:  an unforgettable  dulce de leche center . You can't ask for more.

Shall we go with the recipe?

  • A cup of ripe banana puree
  • One egg
  • One cup of wholemeal flour (it can be white flour).
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • One tsp. vanilla extract
  • One tbsp. baking powder
  • Optional: ¼ cup mascabo sugar (preferable) or white
  • Dulce de leche, amount needed (you can use whatever you want, even dulce de leche without sugar)

A clarification before we go on. As we said before,  mature bananas already provide their share of sweetness . This will have a lot to do with each other's taste. This pudding can be made without sugar, with the amount of sugar suggested in the recipe or with more. Everything will depend on the palate of  diners . Let's continue.

  1. Process or liquefy all wet ingredients.
  2. Sift the dried (flour and powder).
  3. Integrate dry to wet ones with enveloping movements.
  4. Dump half of the preparation into a barely oiled puddress.
  5. Place a carcass of dulce de leche along the pudding. You have to be generous, but not overdo it.
  6. Dump the rest of the mixture.
  7. Cook in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 50 minutes. Anyway, every while check if it is ready with a knife: when it comes out dry, it's time to get it out of the oven.

You're not gonna be able to believe how rich it's left. Enjoy it!
