They say out there that an accountant is someone who solves a problem that you didn't know you had in a way you don't understand. Leaving the joke aside, there's something true about that definition. These professionals live on a passion that most of us don't understand, but we need your knowledge more than we would believe. In Argentina, Public Accountant Day is celebrated on December 17, in honor of Italian mathematician Luca Pacioli, who is considered the “father of accounting”. In 1494 his book was published Sum of Arithmetic, Geometry, Proportion and Proportionality
, which describes the double line method, the basis of accounting. In addition to this, Pacioli established three basic requirements that everyone who decides to engage in trade needs:
- Have money
- Know how to do the accounts well
- Register and write down all businesses quickly and orderly
In that simple enumeration we see the importance of the accountant in our lives: no matter the scale of our income, we all need from them to put our finances in order and make the most of our work. I mean, sooner or later, we're all gonna need an accountant in our lives. Happy Day to all of them!
