Each province has its own unique traditions to share with the rest of the country. Gualeguaychú ( Entre Rios ) one of the mostAacute; s celebrated are the Popular Corsics “Matecito”.
Passionate practice, which invites expression, fun and community participation. This activity takes place in that city, in the circle of Cándido Irazusta Park Avenue, between Spain and Montevideo. The main groups participating in the celebration are murgas (traditional and themed), carnival ensembles, children's corsican and carnival burial.
The murgas performs native music, with a type of traverse bugles originating in this locality. These are built by hand and considered a symbol of these groups. In addition, they play percussion instruments and perform a characteristic song, recited and satires.
The carnivalesque ensemble has a percussion group, does not use bugles and has a different allegorical theme every year. Children between 2 and 12 years of age participate in free form. At the funeral of the Carnival, a theme is developed and traditional characters such as the widow, the weeping and the priest are depicted. Corsican people of all ages are attended, as participants or spectators. Some members are part of the Corsicans throughout their lives.
The popular Corsics “Matecito” are already recognized as one of the manifestations of intangible cultural heritage in the province of Entre Rios and Argentina.
