On National Water Day, 6 facts you need to know

March 31: National Water Day.

Although few know this, National Water Day is celebrated today, as a way to raise a rational awareness of the importance of the use and use of the country's water resources.
That's why we want to leave you some data that you might not know about this scarce and invaluable resource.

  1. Only 2.5% of the world's total water is fresh water.
  2. 2% of the water on the planet is frozen.
  3. 97% of the resource is part of the oceans, and the rest of the atmosphere and earth's crust.
  4. 80% of continental water is on the surface in the form of rivers, lakes and wetlands.
  5. 20% of the remaining water is underground and in the air.
  6. Ninety per cent of freshwater is found in Antarctica, 0.5 per cent in aquifers and 0.01 per cent in rivers and lakes.
