Of chivito, dances and songs

From 15 to 17 November, the city of Chos Malal will host the National Festival of Chivito, Dance and Song.

The  National Festival of Chivito, Dance and Song  is a traditional festival that brings together the village of Chos Malal and surrounding neighbors every year. It arose in 1988, as a holiday that paid tribute to local citizens, and claimed their customs.

Only in 2004 he achieved the “national” category and this 2019 its 14th  edition will be held. It will be held at the Fair of the Agrozotecnica Station in the city, where  three days will be lived to pure music, local gastronomy and Neuquine traditions.

 A program for all tastes

The main attraction of this festival is the specialty of the  region,  its famous  chivito al grill.  A mystique is given during each of the days, where it is possible to see the chefs in country costumes preparing hundreds of chivitos to taste.

The gastronomic proposal is accompanied by other typical dishes of Patagonia, such as  lamb empanadas,  homemade breads,  cabure neuquino  and several  Chasmalense delicacies.

For this edition,  40 stands were built with materials from the region . There producers from all over the area will exhibit sausages, homemade sweets, limes, typical fruits of Valle Fértil, among others. Also craftsmen will sell products made by  Neuquin hands .

Music will be another central element in this popular festival. There will be space for Neuquino artists and also for great figures. It is confirmed   Damas Gratis   for Friday 15, although for health issues of the singer, they are looking for alternatives.  The Pelotas  could become the one who will replace them, in case the cumbia band cannot participate.  The Tekis  and Los Fulanos  will be performing on Saturday 16, while on Sunday 17, El Indio Lucio Rojas  and Los Pachecos  will perform.

These proposals are accompanied by others. Visitors can enjoy the typical gaucho parade, also riderings, Creole skills and dressage. In short, this Chivito Festival will have a tempting program for those who want to make a trip to that city in Neuquina to enjoy it.
