Volunteers are summoned to be referrals for children and adolescents housed in homes

The Office of the Ombudsman of the Nation (DGN) summoned people who wish to volunteer to be "community affective referents  ”, a figure of accompaniment and emotional support for children and adolescents (NnYa) during their accommodation in the homes of the city of Buenos Aires.

Those interested can register in the Embrrazar Programme that operates within the framework of the Council for the Rights of Children and Adolescents in Buenos Aires, the agency reported in a statement.

He also explained that “community affective reference” means “any person who constitutes a figure of emotional support and support for the accompaniment of NNYAs during their institutionalization”.

The objective of the programme is to enable children and adolescents residing in a home to have referential support to  ensure the effective enjoyment of their rights and expand their socio-affective network. 

 Enrollers can visit girls and boys at home  and, with prior authorization, arrange outings outside the institution.

 In the city of Buenos Aires there are approximately 31 households and 17 in the province of Buenos Aires , which have a total of around 760 NnYa derived by the Directorate General for Children and Adolescents.

The Office of the Ombudsman's Commission for the Monitoring of Institutional Treatment of Children and Adolescents monitors the places of accommodation of minors separated from their families, and in this context the need for affective referents to accompany their growth was found.
