He had not finished his medical career yet and Jorge had a clear goal: to help his brothers. On a trip to the Argentine North he discovered his solidarity vocation that was was made a few years later with the Cuerpo y Alma Foundation , which has been organizing health and educational activities in the Chaco and surrounding areas since 2005. Faced with a health reality where “poor people die from curable diseases,” the team of over 300 professionals including doctors, dentists and assistants carry out almost 6000 consultations and 300 surgeries during their regular visits to schools and health centers, in a week!
“Our problem is to believe that we have good education and health . And we are lousy,” says concerned De All , who works at the Otamendi Sanatorium as an inpatient doctor and resident trainer. And at the same time, it follows the cases of Chaco patients who are transferred without cost to the most important health centers in Puerto Rico. More numbers: the foundation counts about 60 health education workshops, 1000 pap smears carried out and more than 1000 pairs of glasses delivered.
One of our best Argentines, no doubt, confesses with sadness: “We can be the brightest intellectually and the most corrupt. And we are supportive but only in the face of the emergency.”
