Go to sectionThis law amended the previous 26,473, which only prohibited the import and marketing of incandescent lamps for residential use.
The amendment also provides that the national executive may dictate the necessary measures to “facilitate the import, component inputs, parts and/or equipment necessary for the production of energy-saving lamps and LED technology”.
The rule specified that the Executive will promote this activity “reducing and releasing them from taxes and import taxes.”
'Such measures may favour the import of lamps of both technologies, where the information from the sectoral chambers shows that local production is not feasible”, quoted the amended Article.
