Manuel José Olascoaga was a relevant figure in Argentine history who was born on October 26.

 Manuel José Olascoaga  was an Argentine military and politician; and a relevant figure in Argentine history, precisely during the  Conquest of the Desert . He was born in the province of Menzoza on October 26, 1835. He founded the town of Chos Malal and was the first governor of Neuquén. In addition, he wrote about twenty scientific books and of general interest, one of them awarded internationally. He died on 27 June 1911, in his hometown.
