Meet Neuquén's music idolized by Iggy Pop

Fémina is a band of girls from  San Martín de los Andes .   The power of these three  neuquins  and the fusion of rhythms, made them triumph nationally and internationally . So successful are these girls who  are idolized nothing more or nothing less than Iggy Pop . The legend of punk gets rid of praise every time he talks about his Neuquin colleagues.

 The trio Fémina is born of a brotherhood and a strong friendship : The Sisters Sofia “Toti” trucco and Clara “Wen” Trucco, have been friends since their childhood in San Martín de los Andes de Clara Miglioli; the three boards formed Fémina at the beginning of the century. His songs are characterized by  shocking vocal harmonies, a fusion of variety of Latin American genres and a lyrical flow inspired by Rap /Hip Hop . The trio has done international tours in Europe, the United States, Australia and Latin America. The three albums to their credit (“Traspasa”, “Deshice De Mi” and “Perlas y Conchas”, made them  one of the emblems of the Latin American feminist movement.  

One of the most emblematic radios on the world music scene is  KEXP . Their broadcasts from Seattle are the scene of the best artists on the planet.   After an American tour, the Females were invited to play in the  radio studio . The performance came to the ear of Iggy Pop, who in turn has another radio show on the British BBC. On Sunday nights at “Iggy Confidential”  , Detroit's historic rocker, recommends refreshing sounds and reflects his curiosity and love for music.   It was there that, for the first time in his life, he undone in praise for Fémina: " This is a song by Fémina Buen Viaje, beautiful song. So precise and with that vocal power. That power shows that there's something there, that they have something to say. God bless the South American riches of the Western Hemisphere l,” the former Stooges said the first time.

 Other phrases by Iggy about the trio de neuquinas have been:  

 “ This is not the first time I talk about Femina and insist on showing her artistic work because they overflow wave, swing and content, with a sound that bears the flag of the women's revolution .”

 “ It's a deadly South American group, of which we are honored to share, women who don't sing in English, so I have no idea what the title of this song El Amunche is better late than never (in perfect spanish) means.”  

In April 2019, the neuquinas released  their third album “Perlas & Conchas” . Produced by virtuoso William Holland (aka Quantic) they recorded at the mythical “Selva” studios in New  York . This new sound stage supports the fusion between Latin American and hip hop music, but  now incorporates more electronic bases.  

Iggy, totally fanatized by these three girls, collaborated on the song “Resist” on this album.
