We walk the ledge of the illegal and fall down all the time. Compliance with the law doesn't matter to us. Like we're immune to bullets.
There is no case: we do not like to comply with the law. And you can't blame our evil always on our poor ancestors. That's enough. They are two characteristics (in one) that we need to change, urgent. Search culprits, point the accusing finger. It doesn't build anything like that, unless it's a crime. I'll be right back with that. And that those guilty are inexorably, the others. Never us. They didn't take us very far.
But from somewhere comes the little respect we have for law and authority.
We always walk
As far as we can, we break the law. You can't do that. And most of the times we do it, to get a miserable advantage, we screw another. Nice partnership we have. Then we tear our clothes apart when something like the truncated Copa Libertadores final happens in River. We think first about how they're going to see us in the world, as if the world cares about a banana republiquette like us. They don't even know where Argentina is.
For that, it is imperative that we respect. The others. To the law. To the imposed necessarily to live in society.
I understand that in recent years this has exacerbated. We went to the imbecile extreme that the police cannot repress (repression means responding to pressure), that uncorrupt judges and prosecutors are afraid to enforce the law. We have a Congress that protects proven perpetrators from havoc, like Menem. To the barrabravas (there is a Cambiemos law cased two years ago) and to the scammers and corrupt through the lack of sanction of the extension of dominion law (another law boxed by the opposition).
The law must be respected and offenders must be punished accordingly. Sentences are to be served in full. For a reason they impose themselves.
They sold us the fear of repression. And I wonder if the daily deaths of drug traffickers, criminals and thieves are not many more than those who might eventually die at the hands of an easy trigger...
