The true meaning of “projecting”

In architecture, projecting is “giving meaning”.

“ To think about a thing or an action and design it graphically or establish the mode and set of means necessary to carry it out.” That is the definition of the word we refer to. It's not that far from our architectural conception.

In architecture, projectingis “giving meaning”. It is to make sense of a need, a requirement by a client (which can be a person or a government), but always the action of making sense is associated with linking the user to the environment from a relationship of use . This relationship is the pyramid of a project that breaks down into all the factors that will make this relationship endure over time. If this happens, the planned architecture will have achieved its purpose.

The project evolves equitably with the evolution of the human being and his needs. Ergo, the designer will think about “giving meaning” both current and its evolution from studies of the past or premonitions of the future (which are obtained by studies of previous experiences, or creative and purely imaginative).

From these reflections the architect must make decisions regarding questions such aswhen to project and when to preserve? Either put architectural canons in crisis so that giving meaning to the project does not lose legitimacy as long as it stagnates in time or does not foresee the evolution of users' behavior, that is, us .
